Exclamation Carfax anyone???

Does anyone have a carfax account? Can someone check a VIN number?
911201755

Does this # seem correct for a 79SC?

the number makes no sense to me. a '79 SC should begin with 911-NINE-2...91120++++ denotes nothing to me..

Carfax's database only searches VINs from 1980-on. Up until then, each manufacturer just used their own system.

You can't do a "Carfax" with a pre-81 vehicle as the universal 17-digit VIN hadn't been introduced. Paul's right; a 79 SC would have a 911-9-2-0-XXXX combo.

The number did not come off a title or the car but from something from a bank. If it is 9119201755, is that something that can go thru carfax?

Thanks Scott. guess that's that.

Darn, I have a too good to be true car that I may look at and wanted to verify some info.

Thanks, Don
