I'm doing my first valve adjustment tonight and I need to know what size is the nut on the fan/pulley (it looks to be a 24mm). I know, I should have a complete set of sockets but my garage was broken into and they pilferaged all my tools. I have yet to replace everything and I guess my large sockets were last on my list. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.
Thanks. ------------------ John '81SC Targa |

Some of the rebuilt Valeo Alternators are coming with 24 mm nuts on the shaft that holds the fan and pulley

Jim,
Luckily I purchased both a 22mm and 24mm. When I looked at the 22mm, it seemed a bit small so instead of making another trip back, I grabbed the 24mm. When I came home, the nut size was a 24mm. I guess the PO had the altenator rebuilt at some time. Thanks guys. ------------------ John '81SC Targa |
