Sway bar compatibility

Hi-

Will the 1987-on 22mm front and 20mm rear sway bars fit an '84 Carrera? Pretty sure the front will but how about the rear (I'm wondering due to the G50 transmission change in '87) Is shape of the rear sway bar different or are they all compatible with the right bushings?

Thanks
BG

BG,

I believe the front 22 will fit, but the rear 20 will not as its a different shape due to the G50 tranny. I was in the same boat you are (82 SC) trying to upgrade sways from a later car.

Look for a rear 20mm sway from an 86 as it also shares our 915 tranny. BTW: its the only year they made the 20mm rear sway that will fit around the 915.

Thanks much- you probably saved me from buying something that wouldn't fit. Many thanks to you.
