Wheel Guru's - quick offset question

Will these BBS LM's fit my narrow bodied 89 Carrera? I thought the proper offset was 10 and 23?

2 front 17 x 7.5 +25 lug pattern 5/130

2 rear 17 x 9 +17 lug pattern 5/130

Thanks as always,

Depending on the tire size both should fit. The 9x16 fuchs have a 15mm offset & the 944 8x16 fuchs are 23mm. I have run 8s (944 offset) & 9 x16 on our SC w/225 front & 245 back w/out problems. But, the front fenders are rolled & the shocks, bushes & torsion bars have been upgraded.

The short ans. is the one Dave provided.

Back in Dec. Teardrop posted a nice visual aid for this sort of question. Here is a link to the thread.

The +25s are set 1.7mm further inboard than stock 7" Fuchs. this will be disguised by the 12.7mm of extra width split equally betwen the inboard and outboard lip. That means that the outer lip is 4.65mm closer to the fender lip. I use that o/s w/ 8s and 235/45, but we also frequently hear of people that have trouble w/ 205/55 on +23mm 7x16s. One can only infer that there is a lot of variance in chassis specs .

The same sort of thing happens in the back, the +17mm is set 2mm further inboard than a stock 9x16 Fuchs but there is no additional width so the outer lip will be 2mm further inboard as will the inner lip. If you try to use extraordinarily wide tires(275/40, wide for that rim anyway) you may start to run into oil line interference. But 255/40 will likely not have that issue.

Thanks Bill, and Dave, I was hoping you'd read this post! :D So, bottom line is they'll fit, I just need to be careful when buying tires!
Thanks, see you guys in a couple months.
