detroit auto show...........PICS

just got back from detroit auto show, i have TONS of pics. i need to resize them and will be able to do it tonite and will post them then.

the porsche display was a bit of a disappointment.....they had a bunch of suv's and the standard auto show 996's. nothing special to report......not even a hint of the carrera gt.

the ferrari "enzo" however was beautiful, the pictures from all the 'zines and online does not due this car justice.....i have some great shots of it. i went with a ferrari friend who told me i would "understand" when i saw it in person....he was correct

expect pics late tonite.....i've got to get some sanding done on my fuchs.......

How was the crowd? I haven't gone for a few years due to the huge crowds. -- Curt

at least the porsche exhibt had a video cip of the 550, had some decent cars and the new suv. suv's were everywhere thought. i know what you mean about the enzo, its one sweet ferrari, the red spyder was drop deaad gorgeous. seems like porsche had a better show last year.

the crowds weren't too bad, nothing compared to the crowded weekends.
i have a bunch of porsche lit which opens to a cayenne poster and also has 996 info/pics if anyone wants one, i think i have 10 or so my gift to whomever wants one.
next year i'm going to stay overnight so i can get some gambling in, just didn't have the time this year.

Very cool bell, my brother is taking me this weekend as a guest of Ford (he's a Ford engineer) I'd kill for a ride in that GT40 Especially since the originals have long been my favorite car ever produced (sorry Porsche) I was really hoping they would have brought the Carrera GT, what a let down that will be.

good porsche places in detroit? you got to be kidding, this place sucks for that. I'd go visit the Daimler Chrysler museum in auburn hills, or the Ford headquarters in dearborn. Henry Ford museum in dearborn is a must see. Maybe the DIA on woodward. Try to stay out of the casinos and maybe see a Wings game at the joe. that would make for a good week.

Porsche places in Detroit

Believe it or not, there is a Porsche Engineering office in Troy (northern 'burb of Detroit). My design company has done work for them in the past. Not as exciting as you may think though, no racecars or future porsche prototypes - just engineering consulting for the big three mainly.

Stop by my place - at 2, I may have the largest vintage Porsche collection in the state! Don't expect a ride though, at least not until I stop seeing my breath outside.

Henry Ford Museum is a must.

Thanks Guys - Looks like it finishes before I arrive. Thanks for the advice I will try and get to the Ford Museum.

It sounds cold over there - its about 90f in Sydney today - so I think I be bringing my thermal underware.

bell - thanks for the photos.
That Honda with the Top Kart in the back got a chuckle.

What's the story of the bike with the big engine?

That big engine is a 500 hp Viper engine. HANG ON!!

Dodge claims 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 300mph. They're having trouble finding a test driver to verify top speed.

As DCX COO Wolfgang says - "eet demunstates de een yoor fayse essunce uf de Dodge brahnd".

Beautiful piece of work - all machined aluminum and stainless. No production plans though

i would test the bike at bonneville..............as long as i had a parachute and some body armor
yea i like the little truck with the cart, it's ALOT smaller than it looks in the pic, i'd compare it to a tall mini.
