Collapsible spare with 88lt RS plastic tank puzzle

I have a 75 short hood with a 73 RS 88 lt plastic tank. I also have an Fuchs alloy with a collapsable spare. Problem is that the spare hits the jack storage support (?) under the trunk latch and won't allow the spare to drop onto the car.

Any suggestions other than sawing off the jack tab?

Really? Nobody has ever encountered this before? Not one of the backdated RS clones has ever seen this?
