935 valve cover

Wanted to get any specifics on this valve cover (engine years, types etc.). I got it a long time ago from a builder who was going under and was selling everything. It's been collecting dust in my garage for too long. Maybe it can be used by someone.
Would just like to know which 935 type used it etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like off a four cam motor. Not many 935's had those ... Try VZ935 here on the forum, or ask Wayne ...

956 I think. Looks more like early 956 as 962C did not have HT wire bosses I don't think. Quite valuable if its in good condition.

I wondered about the 956 connection, seemed if it was 935 it would have been
a really late variation. It's never been used, so might be of value to someone
restoring a car.. who knows. Van is helping with info but busy at the moment,
will talk to him later this week. Wayne would be a good source as well...
Thanks for the comments.

The only 935 that used this cover was the 4-cam 935/78. This was a unique engine with 4-valve, water-cooled heads and air-cooled cylinders.

Gonna say. I have a 935 valve cover sitting here in my office and it looks NOTHING like that one.

The one I have looks like a standard valve cover with the bracketry to hold the MFI pump cast into the rear of it. along with additional smaller bracket on the front end.

So this would be the previous 935 engine? 935/72 Has twin plugs and
outboard intercoolers. Seems like the twin cam version not only produced more horsepower but was more compact.. no?

Great photos! So I'd say this valve cover, looking at the engine, is right side... seems to match the one in your last photo. Those are some really good views of that engine. Thanks! (It has the two studs for what I assume is the mount for the fuel injection housing...
