help finding this front bumper for a backdate
not sure why the previous post didnt upload the picture:
I am in the middle of a backdate project and have run into issues with a supplier (f-s-h) having a longer lead time than expected for the front bumper, anyone know where I can find one of these quickly? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1486687469.png |

Yeah thats the SCRS bumper I think.
I could only find one company in England I think that made it. The only stateside seller I found was Rothsport. Rothsport only sells very high end, this part was no exception. I have read that it fits very well for a FG part. Also, pretty sure the part is designed for a "Short Hood" and not for a 73 and earlier long hood. |
I think you might be looking for a 911 R bumper?
Its confusing to look for one because the R bumper is made for the Short wheel base cars up to 69'. So to find it you have to look in that section of the catalog. All of the usual FG sellers have them. They are a little challenging to install on a back date because the front bulk head barely clears the R bumper profile. In fact I had to notch mine to clear the factory oil cooler as well. That may be why they dont offer them for the 69 and later cars - some fitment issues that have to be dealt with. |
The SCRS Bumper has the indicator lights moulded into the bumper as all typical IB parts and is quite different.
The bumper pictured is for a 964 to ST Backdate and is completely non-standard but it does need a long hood conversion. There is a UK Company making them but...... |
But.......???????

FWIW, that looks like the bumper the Singer boys are using these days. Might want to search on that term.
