Post speedo bouncing???

Hi fellas,

Drove on highway the other day and noticed that my speedo would read correct reading and that bounce or spike an extra 5 MPH every second or so. As I slow down it seems to decrease a bit. What causes the bouncing? I searched and limited info says cable related? Check behind speedo and where is the other end?

Thanks as always,
Joe 68L (sporto)

by the way, I am on cloud nine right now...we had baby boy on Saturday! Too excited not to share!

Joe,

Cable is probably factured in spiral-wound inner cable, and the bounce is one part catching up with other after 'disconnecting' momentarily. Distant end screws into nosecone of transaxle, close to shift rod.

ps -Congrats to mom and pop!
