Autocross in Santa Barbara
We are trying to get autocross back in Santa Barbara County. If you think that is a GOOD idea, please show up at the Earl Warren Showgrounds on the 16th....at 5pm.
We can each have 5 minutes to present our case. The old CEO had a problem with us...personal. He is gone, the new guy is leaning in our favor....we just have to convince his Board of Director's. |

Um yeah but its a little small. Wayne should allow for larger avatars when they make a statement like that.
Side note- Just got off the phone with Phil Hart, hes coming to the drive but opted against the BBQ thing. The Tavern is going to hook us up for lunch. Back on topic- There has got to be more then 4-5 people who want an autox in SB and can make this meeting. Please!

Personally, I've kinda cooled on auto-x. Maybe it was SCCA that did it to me - crappy classification system (2.7L 911S in ASP vs Viper and NSX), standing in the hot sun for hours on end with a flag in my hand watching in exchange for 90 seconds of seat time. I honestly don't see how people can trek all over the country for this crap.
It might be fun at a small event, but out here, I don't think there's any 'small' events. The PCA events are a little better, but they still have that standing in the sun with a flag stuck up your bum thing. Once I entered the DE world, there was no turning back.

No way I can make it to Santa Barbara tomorrow evening by 5:00 PM. I don't even get off until 5:30. I'll see if the wife can stand in for me.
Did notice get sent to the SB Region PCA? I would think they should get the word out to show up for the hearing. Unless this is non-affiliated of course.

I spoke with Joe Schneider.....for those that don't know him,,,,he chases Tom Gould and his partner in the Rally championship...he wil show up and give us some support.

Well three of us showed upand talked to the Board....what a bunch of tight asses.....geez. Anywho, they will take it under advisement.....
As to AX versus DE....D U H ...DE is more fun, we just don't have any places to do that locally. We drive to Willow Springs....3+ hours away....If I can burn some rubber down the freakin' street....I be gonna do it....

I guess I'm a spoiled brat - Sears Point and Thunderhill are each an hour away.
I started really getting into auto-x for a while, but then it seemed everyone else did, too... Quote:
