Thinking about selling the wheels off my p-car. I believe they are 16x8 and 16x9 (stock rims for turbo look package.

All tires have less than 2000 miles. They are Yoko Avid V4's. The front wheels have original finish and are in perfect condition. The rear wheels have had there lip polished, and are near perfect.

They also have chrome center caps with painted crests.

Don't know why the front ones aren't polished...bought the car that way.

I have a set of Champion rims waiting to be put on.

How much can I expect to get for these? Should I keep them, just in case?

Stock rims for turbo or turbolook should be 7x16 and 9x16.

Approximate values for used Fuchs (pair):

6x16: $250
7x16: $450
8x16: $800
9x16: $1100

efhughes3 01-17-2003 03:15 PM

They're only worth a hundred dollars, but I'll give you $150 :)
Actually, I just paid $1380 for a set of 8"/7" X16" Fuchs that had been polished, but never put on the car. They're actually going on tomorrow morning. This was on Ebay 2 weeks ago. I hope this helps.

Hello, Turbo look, nice looking ride, your 9" rears are worth between $800.00 to a $1000.00, providing they have no curb-marks, and your front rims, if they are 8", are worth up to 800.00+- again, depending on condition. If they are 7" wide, quite a bit less. Seems to be a sellers market these days for 16" Fuch's. as they are no longer common trade items. Good Luck, Doug

Ed:

I saw that sale: good job!

Turbolook:

Nice looking car! I have to say you ought to keep the Fuchs wheels. Just ask Leland... Seriously, unless you HAVE to have the cash, sit on those wheels until you know you will never, ever want them again. Many folks out there sad about having sold their original Fuchs.

John

Jdub is right, hang on the them if you can. I told my wife I was going to sell my original Fuchs which are in very good shape to offset the cost of the new ones. But, I'm thinking they're going up in the attic and save them for a rainy day. Who knows, they may do better than my 401K!

Wow....

didn't realize they were worth so much. I was thinking I'd sell them to ofset the cost of the new rims.

Maybe I should send them to Al Reed for polishing and keep them.

Thanks all for your input.

They'd sure make good track wheels. A set of Hoosiers and you're in business.

Here are my 16x7's and 8's. Bought off ebay (7's $350/pr perfect shape), 8's were $450/pr in fair-poor shape, redone, polished lips, painted centers by Al Reed for under $200. Total= $1000.

Keep the Fuchs.

Those are 7s and 9s, the identification of these rims is being covered in this thread

is there a link to al reed's business site? i checked the feb excellence ad index but i didn't see anything that came close. thanks ric

You should keep the wheels unless your really strapped for the cash. Most people prefer the original wheels when they buy,and a turbo look has more value than a plain carrera. One day you may get tired of the new wheels and want to go back. The price on any fuchs bigger than 7" seems to be getting higher as time goes by.

I have been watching prices for 8" fuchs because I would like to take the 7" to the front and mount 8" in the back. For wheels that aren't that nice they run about $800 and they go up from there.

They are getting harder to find and I think 9" are harder yet.
I think you would not regret keeping them.

If you do sell them, put them in Panorama. I sold my 7's and 8's a few months ago for $1500 total after having them on their website for 2 days. Strange, but a few months ago, 8's were just about as much as 9's. It's free to PCA members and most buyers and sellers are real Porsche people, polite and love to talk about their cars. If you don't need to sell them keep em. I bought 8's (951) x 16's and and 9's to upgrade and had no use for the old ones.
