Nadella to Lobro swap?

Hi

I posted this in the 912 forum too but am posting it here in the hope of reaching a wider audience. I hope that's OK, and apologies if I'm breaching any protocols.

I have a 1966 912 which came with a Nadella half-shaft with UJ's on the LHS, and a Lobro half-shaft with CV Joints on the RHS. It's just failed its Roadworthy examination on 'LHS Lower Universal Joint', so it seems to me that the sensible solution is to convert the LHS to CV Joints.

So, to my question: How easy a job is this to do? What parts will we need?

Thanks in advance

James

James,

I did the same job a few years back what you will need to do is find a stub axle two CVs and a drive shaft.

Remove the Nadella set up, assemble the CVs and axles and install the complete unit.

The only special tool you will require will be a very big wrench to remove the nut that holds the stub axle in.

Cheers
Steve

Thanks for the reply, Steve. Doesn't sound too daunting. Can I take the parts I need from any 911/912 with a 901 transmission? Or are there certain years I need to look out for?

Cheers

James

I just did this to my 66 911, I used parts from a 68 911, I know that 67-68 911/912 are all the same 69 and above I'm not sure of.
