Chain Housing Stud, Double Nut Tech.
What is the best way to put a stud back into the chain housing.
Which compound do folks like to secure the stud in the housing? Thanks, ian |
double nut works fine. no compound needed.

Walker, Can you help me out here...
Explain real quick how you get the stud into the housing and then remove the nuts?
Thanks. |
Tighten the two nuts together at the top of the stud. Screw the stud into the housing by hand. Tighten by using your wrench on the top nut. Be careful not to overtighten. Not much force is required. Put a second wrench on the bottom nut to hold it in place and then turn the firs wrench to the left to untighten the nut. The first nut will then easily turn off. I used a little bit of red loctite, but as John stated, it is not necessary.
