Grand Prix Classics has this RSK Spyder for sale and I think they told me $595k when I was in there.

Is the RS61 the one that Urs Gretner hand built in his shop in Los Alamitos? If it is, I saw what they started with, not much. All the exterior body panels are new, hand hammered on wooden bucks. The bucks are still there if you happen to need a panel for your RS.

If my memory is correct, Dan Gurney's '67 Eagle F1 car complete with a Westlake engine recently sold for almost 455K pounds sterling ($730K). I guess that compares pretty well with a 908 or 917 as listed above. There is a pretty big jump in performance for that last couple of (hundred) thousand!

I recall an ex BMW dealer here in Wichita, Kansas that
restored one over an 8 year period and sold it to a Japanese collector for 1.1 million, but that was over ten years ago. Boy did they sound neat and the "bean" oil they used had a really differant smell. Keith |
