Electric Antenna Knock Knock

Should I be concerned with a double knock when the electric antenna on our 1983 911SC reaches is top most and bottom most positions?

I'm fairly sure that is normal. I have an '84 that does the same thing.
I believe there is a ramp/clutch mechanism inside the antenna motor the slips once the mast encounters resistance allowing one of the gears move until the wire contacts are disrupted.

antenna

As jr bennett says , that is normal, but i will tell you what helps alot
buy one of those three in one thin oil bottles, and lift antenna all the
way up,put small amount of oil on rag and rub up and down antenna
do it couple of times,it helps alot.
