Euromeister - to polish or not to polish?

I have a set of 17x9 and 17x7 and just not sure if I want to polish the lips. I want to keep the black centers as my 85 has now.

Anyone have photos to share of Euromeisters polished?

Thanks,
Ken

Seems like it would be difficult to do since you would have to sand down the lips that have those fine ridges machined into them.

I'm curious. What finish do the lips have now?

Fuchs are anodized. Some remove the anodizing from Fuchs and polish the lips or even the entire wheel.

Euromeisters are not anodized. They have fine ridges machined into the lip to imitate the anodized look.

My experience with fake Fuchs is that I should have polished my wheels OFTEN. The aluminum was different than what Fuchs are made out of and there was no clear coating. After a couple of years my wheels got dull and were impossible to shine up due to the corrosion working into the pores of the castings.

Maybe others who have Euromeisters will chime in with their experiences.

There is a clear coating on Euromeisters - I used paint stripper on the petals/spokes and found out there was clear on the ridges shown in above pic. Mine have not left the garage, so can't speak to how they will hold up. I plan to end up with an RSR look finish, so will probably re-clear the ridges with a matt clear

Just as an update, I have Fuch 7x16 and 8x16s on the car now. I'm taking them off and putting them in storage. Since I needed to buy new tires and wanted 9" rears, I thought it cheap to go with 17" Euromeisters.

You probably wont be disappointed with them out of the box.

I tried 215/45 & 245/40 first but switched to a quieter (but not as sticky), 205/50 and 255/40 to better match the 2" stagger on the wheels.
