Hello,
I am new to this forum. I am looking for idle jets for my 71 911 T. The car has Zenith 40 TIN carbs and a hodge podge of Solex idle jets, 3 different sizes to be exact and 2 of the jets are damaged. I checked with Motor Meister and they don't have any although they once did. I am working on other leads but need a little help tracking these babies down. Roy at Motor Meister said I would probably need a 60 jet but I would be happy with 55 and ream them out if they are too lean. Thanks for the help, Craig |

I have webers on 2.4T and I was told I would need 55 idle jets to carbs function properly. I have been running with 45 so far.

55s should do the trick. 45s cause lots of spitting and popping, especially on cold start and cold run, and acceleration would be boggy. for zenith jets, visit a VW shop or store. they're the same as what was used in VW solex one barrels. very common. use a jet gauge to size all jets, regardless of the number on them, as so many have been drilled oversize.

Thanks for the input, I was wondering if VW jets would work and now I know. I actually tried a VW shop yesterday but they didn't have any Solex jets. I'll try some others and see what I can find.
Thanks again, Craig |

Just thought I would let everyone know I found the jets I was after, 55 idle jet. Contacted Gene Berg in So Cal who referred me to an independent Porsche garage. Picked up 6 brand new 55 solex idle jets. I can't wait to fire it up in the AM to see what a difference they make. I checked the old jets and they had not be resized so I truly had 3 different size jets.
