Door pocket repair

I am working on my doors at the present. The image below is of one of the front door pockets that are positioned in front of the fold-down pockets. As you can see, there is significant warping of the pocket so that it doesn't come close to aligning with the bolt holes. These things seem to me made out of some sort of heavy cardboard type material. Is there any way to straighten these things? My instincts are to steam them or dunk them into hot water long enough to make them pliable, but I have a feeling that they will melt. These freaking things cost hundreds of $$$ to replace with new, so I am trying to get out on the cheap. Has anyone repaired these?

As suggested above, I did a search and many suggestions popped up. I decided on using a heat gun focused on the bottom deformed part. After heating for a couple of minutes, I clamped the lower portion of the pocket as shown for a few hours. As you can see in the last photo, this worked remarkably well. Once re-formed, all the bolt holes aligned perfectly with the screw holes in the door.
