quick fuchs wheel question
Hi
I have found a pair of 6's for my early car. They are located far away from me so I am going only by the pictures. As shown , the one wheel has alot of weights on it. Would this mean the wheel is not true? Thanks for any opinions.

Could be the wheel or could be the tire. A good tire shop can move the tire around on the wheel and minimize the weight.

Are you looking for the "deep" 15x6s or are you looking for the "regular" (SC, Carrera) 15x6s? Those are the regular ones, not correct for an early car. IMHO, the non-polished deep 6s on an early car look best.

Yepp , I do.
That is what I am looking for too. I have a nice set of 16 x 6 and 7 that came with four 205 55 16 S-02's. The 7's rub in the rear so I am looking to run the 6's all around for now. Scott. I agree the correct wheel looks nice on the car. It is simply hard to find correct wheels at a good price.

Reg: I have a pair of 16x6 Fuchs for sale. They were recently (lessthan 500 miles ago) polished by Al Reed, and look great. Send me an e-mail if you're interested.

I could use some camber yes. I have yet to try that. The car sits too high already and they just slightly rub under load.
I'd like to install the factory S sway bar set I have , lower the car and then do an alignment/corner balance but that all costs plenty of money. I am a little hesitant on pulling the rear susp. apart myself and fooling around with it but have pondered the idea. Also, I start to wonder about this can of worms. If I were to do all of the above, then would'nt one not want to get new torsion bars and shocks at the same time? $$$ keep coming to mind vs. using 16 x 6's for now and driving the car!

Reg:
If you are rubbing with the car that high, your problem might be torsion bars/shocks. You might find that a set of 26mm torsion bars will do the trick. It appears, although photos can deceive, that there is no camber on the rear, and in fact it looks as if there is some positive camber. For the price of the wheels you could get the torsion bars ![]() That is a great looking car.
