My '78 911sc Targa has only 4 bolts attaching the regulator to the drivers side door. My window motor stopped working with the window in the up position. I've removed the 4 regulator bolts and still can't maneuver regulator motor to access hole to remove motor bolts?? Any ideas on how to proceed at this juncture? I'm just replacing the motor with a new one. Regulator not broken.

You may be able to get the old motor to start turning by pressing the button to lower the window while hammering at the old motor. Try this first as this is the easiest thing to do. There may also be a way to turn the motor with an allen key. Will post this to the forums and see if another member who has been down this road can offer guidance.

I worked on mine for two days and lots of bandaids. I have done a manual one before. I ended up at a bodyshop and their tech did it in less than an hour. The bill was $68.50. I am sure a glass shop could do the same.
