Had my SC painted and rust taken out while I was in the desert for 3 months...When I get it back next week, I plan to immediately put new flapper boxes and heat exchangers on (it's pretty cold right now and I'd really like to drive it!). Question is, I was looking at gaskets last night and I see the gaskets for the 83 SC run almost $10 each, while the 84 gaskets are like $5 each! I understand that the gaskets for the 83 are SS, but wouldn't the less expensive gaskets used on the 84 work just as well?
OBTW....fixed the heater motor last weekend. Couldn't find an electrical shop that would touch it, so I took it apart, cleaned it with my faithful dremmel...checked to maked sure there was continuity throughout....it works! Figure I saved a cool hundred bucks. Does this mean I spend my $100 savings on gaskets instead?? thanks guys

The exhaust port diameter is different between the SC and Carrera, sure the larger Carrera gaskets would seal correctly.
