New carb install - question

I've installed PMO 46's on the 3.0L in my 71 911T. There is a constant smell of gasoline around the car now. Is this normal? I've been all over my fuel lines and can't find any leaks of any kind. I don't remember this being the case while I had a 2.2L with Webers in there for a short while, but that was over 18 months ago.

Do you have a Fuel Pressure Gauge in your set-up?

The float bowls of the carbs do vent to the atmosphere and today's fuels do vaporize more than the gasoline of old, hence more smell. With modern, closed EFI systems, people tend to forget how much these older fuel systems smelled.

I do have the PMO pressure gauge installed.

Jack Stands, that's what I'm afraid of. My wife is asthmatic and the strong smell is hard on her. I still have a lot of tuning to do and it was initially very rich. If it doesn't lessen I may consider a switch to EFI.

I'm not too familiar with PMO carbs, but can you vent them to a charcoal canister?
