Back Panel Removal 1982 SC Coupe

I posted this once before with no responses; maybe it's considered a stupid question.

I need to remove the back panel, the upholstered panel behind the rear seats. This car has no speaker grilles, only holes in the vinyl over where the speakers are, and the only two obvious fasteners for the entire thing are a pair of screws, one each at the lower outside corners. Obviously something secures it at the top at the very least. So what is going on here. I don't want to damage anything trying to take it apart.

This operation isn't covered in any manuals I have seen, nor is it obvious from parts illustrations. I know some upholstery guys out there have to know about this!

Not stupid. We have all been there.

Remove the four screws, two on top and two on the bottom. Lift the front part of the panel up since it is held in place by a metal tongue on the piece which is inserted into a u shaped piece on the firewall.

Just to be clear when bob says up, he means slide it vertically -- don't pull it forward.

Thanks for the info guys. Somehow or other I missed finding those two top screws, probably because they're black like the interior. I'll work on it tomorrow.
