stumped - clutch and throttle cable interference

Hi Guys,

Ive tried moving on either side of the linkage, but I just cant stop these two cables fighting one another.

The only logical solution seems to be to move the tab on the throttle cable closer to the box to also enable a straight throw through the tunnel.

Would that be looking for trouble?

Are you sure you have the right cable, here's a pic of what it should kind of look like

Thanks guys. @Tobluru definitely the right cable, but from your pic I see I'm missing something!

What is this thing attached to?

The clutch shown above is for a '70 or '71 pull clutch. Your '66 cable will be slightly different. Not sure if your car has that guide you have circled, or if it is needed. Your cable will certainly go over the throttle pivot.

Peter, could you show a picture of the cable's mount on your transmission and how it attaches to the clutch release arm, we will have a better idea of what is going on with your setup.

I am assuming that you are using the '66 clutch and trans.

Hi Trackrash,

Will send shortly. Its a SWB but the trans is out of a 73 carrera RS. I will route above the pivot this morning.

Cool pics of the guide bracket. I might be able to do without it.
