Going strapless would be groundless - Where do these go? Help
After many, many months of dismantling, stripping, painting, repairing, replacing, rebuilding I am on the home stretch. "While you are there" syndrome can really get expensive when "there" is everywhere. Engine and tranny now reinstalled and I am hooking up electrical. I have two ground straps. Vinyl coated slightly longer than one foot. Wonderfully cleaned, derusted, and deoxidized. I just can't remember exactly where they go. The one from the transmission to the body near the tranny mount is in place.
Man, arthritis and memory loss really sucks. Thanks in advance. David |

how about engine lid to ground |
Ron is probably right, but another possibility is alternator to engine case. One lug for M6 stud on alt. case, other for M8 stud on engine centerline, near breather cover.

I'm just putting mine back together as well. Mine has one on each engine cover hinge. Not sure why though. I made some up for the hood as there were none. I figure it can't hurt.

Hello, it could be the one that goes from CDI unit mounting plate to the ground stud.

A little more info might help. 86 Carrera Coupe. Ground straps are flat and braided.
Did one of these go from the battery to the body? Thanks David |
I think my girl friend uses strapless too, I will ask her and let you know.
