Differences between Early 911 Fron t Bumpers?

OK, from my recent understanding there are different front bumpers for the 65-68 and the 69-73 models. I bought my steel front bumper 4 years ago for my restoration project with the understanding 65-73 were all the same.

Instead I ended up going with an S-style bumper for my 73.5T never even testing the fit for this particular bumper. So exactly which bumper did I buy- a 65-68 or a 69-73? I also closed up the bumperette holes for bumper delete in case anyone was wondering.

I believe that is a LWB bumper, the SWB bumpers used an L-shaped flat bar to attach bumper to inner walls of wheel wells, later ones attached to the front, vertical sheet metal, behind the bumper. Otherwise, the shape is the same so SWB &LWB are visibly the same but mounting is different.

So this means it definitely is for 69-73?

Here's a picture of an early bumper.

What I focused on is the opening for the fog lights. Early bumpers had a smaller opening and the metal support behind the opening--where the fog light mounts--is a different shape than on later bumpers. Early bumper fog light mounts are bent back, as seen in the picture, and later bumpers have a virtually straight support.

Looking at the pictures you posted, it looks like you have a later, 69-73 bumper. As stated, both are similar, but not the same. The size of the fog light openings will be noticeable to those who are aware.
