Jake Raby

Do a search for Jake Raby's web site and shop. He build high-powered fours all day long with great power and reliability. He also sells matched kits so you can build your own. I think $2500 sshould get you the guts for a high-powered four if you are willing to invest the labor to build it.

Lots of good food for thought guys. I'm getting a game plan down on paper now, let me know what you think. I got the car for such a good price, I think I can stuff a real motor in it and still be on top.

Sell the 2.2, carbs, etc
Sell the 912e stuff, I only have the engine tin, motor mount, flywheel. Did not get the exhaust or FI system.
Sell the AC system out of the car, complete.
Sell the 74 beetle, freshly rebuilt (have an interested party in that, keeping my fingers crossed)

Hold out for a 3.0 6 cyl. ( I have a line on one, if you know of others, let me know)
I have an oil tank from the 70t, oil lines, etc.

If the pilot shaft is different on the tranny, can't I just use a different clutch disc that has the correct splines? What is the disc diameter, 205 215mm? Otherwise, do I need to keep the flywheel off the 70 2.2, or trade the 923 tranny off for a 915?

I've got a bunch of stuff already for sale to build capital for the project, please tell your friends, makes it that much sooner I can get this car on the road.

Make me some offers!

Any other suggestions or observations?

Thanks

maybe even here:

Sell your engine tin as a set only. If you have the orginal a/c - smog pump drive pulley, sell it separately....

Good Luck.
