Need help finding body plug part number
I just stripped out my rear seat area and want to replace the two rubber plugs under the rear seats but I cannot seem to locate the plugs or the part numbers for them. These are the plugs (not my car though)
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1493005926.jpg Does anyone know where to get these or the part number or size? Much appreciated. |
I think I have 1 or two of those plugs in my shop. Measure the hole and let me know what size it is. If I have them, they're yours.

Thanks, that is very nice of you. The car is at another location so I will stop by tomorrow and measure them. I never knew they would be so hard to locate.
 |
Wow, the strippering/cleanup went well.

That picture is not of my car. This is the thread to my endeavors from last weekend:

If you don't have any luck give us a shout and ask for Bruce. He might be able to help you. 1.888.280.7799. Good luck!

I stripped my interior and had to replace all of the plug inserts. On my car 1970T these were metal discs that are glued in with seam sealer. What year is your car?
Couldn't find part number (not even shown on parts diagrams I don't believe) and posted here but go no response. I did have a shop cut me some and I should have some left over if you can't find any or find you need a lot of them ( think it took 12 or 13 to do my entire floor pan and rear seats) let me know. Most all of my plugs had rusted so I replaced them all when restoring the interior just sealing them in with new seam sealer. Here is the post I made about the strip down in case you are going that far. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/879363-floorboards-interior-stripping-2015-edition.html |
Well now I am a bit embarrassed. It ends up those are not body plugs. There are depressions in the metal Seat pans that were filled with some sort of black tarry substance that I thought were plugs. Thanks anyhow.

Well I'm not 100% sure but it sure seemed like it. I will need to wheel the car into the the sunlight next weekend and take a heat gun to those areas to see what lies under the goop. Thanks for the input.
