H4 lens

Could someone please help me here in Australia,i may fit H4 lights to
my 84,.What i want to know is, are the actual lens used the same on
both sides ,or do i fit left and right, i have one lens with number ending 006,
see photo,---so do i require another the exact same,thank you Wayne.

The lenses are different from left to right.

No they are not. There's only difference in lhd and rhd.

Dennis is correct. Both lenses, left and right, are the same. You'll need the lenses for RHD, obviously.

You can tell the difference visually at a glance, by the wedge shaped section of fluting just to the left of the H4 marking in your photo.



That bit of fluting will direct the light away from oncoming traffic when your lights are dipped. The LHD lenses are just the opposite, with that area of the lens being on the right side.

Thanks for that Derris and Kevin, I wondered as i looked at 911s for sale on ebay
and you are correct i noticed they where the same for both lens,
but the opposite for right hand drive.

The lens in your picture is for a right hand drive light.

Share the same part number (911-631-927-00) in our catalog here: 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe - Headlamp Lens - H-4. Part number may be different for your application (RHD) of course.
