Center Tunnel Throttle Bushings

Hi All -
When I just slightly tap my gas pedal I can hear the throttle linkage rattle in the center tunnel. I have done a search on throttle linkage bushings, but everything I find seems to be addressing the bushings located on the motor.

I bought the tunnel bushings from our host. Any way someone could give a general idea on how to install them?

Thanks -
Scott S

Hi Scott - first off, very impressive collection you have - you have some beauties. I've attached a link to our site's DIY tech articles, there are several that I hope will help you troubleshoot the bushings install. Best of luck and please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Dmitry -
I have gone through them all and have not been able to find anything dealing with the bushings in the center tunnel. Can you point me to the article?

Thanks -
Scott S

You have to remove the carpet from the center console under the dash, the hand brake support and the shift coupler cover.
Inside the tunnel on the driver side you will find the gas cable.
This metal cable sits on three metal piece supports.
Insert the busings onto the cable, they are snap on type, and then place them between the metal piece support.
The idea is that the bushings are keept in place by the support while the gas cable freely slips inside the bushing.
Hope this help
