Any feedback on "New Performance Parts" fiberglass tail???

Anyone with experience???

The price is definitely right if the fit, finish and attachment hardware properly located.

My experience with aftermarket fiberglass parts is that they all need work. $250 is simply the entry fee.

I think it depends on whether you want to learn a new skill and what your tolerance is for fitment (panel gaps etc). If you're paying someone else to fit it, I'd just pony up for the $900 ducktails in the For Sale forum (a steel decklid liner bonded to a fiberglass duck). I thought $900 was a lot for a duck until I started doing the same job on a tail of my own - it's a lot of work for an amateur and when you consider the cost of a donor steel decklid and fiberglass duck...

I've read good things here about Gary Strattons Sonjay Duck. Look him up on Pelican.

Good luck with the duck.

That's really cheap price, but the shipping is another $200, pretty common trick to reduce your Ebay fees.

That shipping price appears to be a placeholder; he states to use the shipping calculator for an actual.

You are a lot further away in MD than the 500 or so miles north where I am.

Ducktail

If you live in Orlando...one of the best ducktail builders is right in your backyard. He goes by Sonjay on this forum. Here is a link to his most recent offer. They are very nice...Not sure about the one you mentioned for $250...I can tell you that Gary "aka" Sonjay builds a quality tail...

I've got a few finished tails. They are made with fiberglass cloth and bonded to a factory steel frame. The latch panel is reformed and extended to replicate the factory RS tails. But they aren't $250
