Question For those with frunk carpet and strut braces

I can see the finish line on the suspension refresh on my '83SC.

I've installed the Elephant Racing quick-change strut brace rear brackets on the camber plate. I have a fully carpet-lined frunk. The carpet will need to be cut to accommodate the way the brackets extend past the strut towers, towards the center of the frunk. See pic which I borrowed from Elephant's website.

I am thinking that somewhere along the line a Pelican has found a grommet or other item that can be applied to the carpet which the bracket can ride in. What did you/would you use for this purpose?

Thanks, Pelicans!

I have an Elephant Racing strut brace in my car. It is not the Quick Change model. When I installed mine, I just poked a small hole in the carpet at the top of the strut tower where would align correctly and placed a spacer between strut tower and the carpet and the carpet and the eyelet of the strut brace to keep the carpeting from tearing anymore than the small hole for the strut brace bolt.
In your scenario, I would probably make a small slit in the carpet to allow the tab of the strut brace mount to slide through and I would either do it myself or have an upholstery shop make a leather or vinyl ribbing to go around the sides of the slit to act as a reinforcement in the opening to keep the carpet from tearing.

I just cut a slit in each side for mine. I had some amount of anxiety about it at first, now I don't even think about it. Unless you're looking for it, you wouldn't even know it was done.

Mine's just got a couple of slits in it. It's been this way for years, and is fine - doesn't tear or anything. You can finish the cut if you like, but I don't think it's necessary.
