Matthew Mariani Restoration; 1967 Hot Rod

A month from now I'll be starting a '67 Hot Rod for an active Pelican member.

It's rough right now but has much potential.

The body won't be flared but I asked Steve if I could louver his engine lid for free as a signature.. (I really want to flare the rear like an R)

So with Steve's permission, I'll be louvering his steel engine lid like my Stinger 912R but since his Porsche has a Flat 6 out back,

I'll be adding a row of louvers over the S.

What do you think Steve?

Iceland Green Single Stage Enamel Paint (Vintage VW Color)
Subtle R Flares, no one makes these in steel, must be hand formed.
Steel fenders but Horn Grill Delete like some Rs were..
Trim Delete but all Steel, for worry free Target shopping..
Deep 6's wearing Vintage Firsetones with white lettering (love that look)
3 row Louvered 'Stinger' engine lid
Center Fill Tank

What Flat 6 of yours out back ?

If ihat drawing evolves into the real life version as your original drawings of your stinger, it'll be another stunner!!!
Personally, I think "sport/racing" inspired cars always look better with SOME flaring, but agree that subtle is paramount.

It will my friend yes, subtle is key I agree.

The color is vintage VW that Steve wants, it'll be
old school single stage of course.

This was a Bahama Yellow 69 911 T. Got the Miami Vice treatment some time ago. My customer is deciding whether he wants to bring it back or pass it along.
It's a matching numbers car.
He already has a '72 S

If it's a '67, you should definitely try to make it an "R". Though if it's numbers matching, the smarter financial move would be to bring it back...

Sorry to be confusing.

The above red car is a matching # '69 911T. Different car..

The '67 is not. It's up to the owner though.

^^^^^ YUM!!! Maje it look like that AGAIN!

One of the coolest colors for that year topped only by Olive, in my book.

That Bahama Yellow is sweet.

Gettin close to enjoying this simple, lightweight, inexpensively built '68 912 R.

That's the best kind of old Porsche imo.:-)

For anyone in the Philadelphia/Jersey area in need of an alternator rebuild I'd recommend you use Paul at
PCI Alternators.

Paul's a great guy and just moved his South Philly shop to New Jersey.

Honest and helpful.
