Passenger Window Switch Mystery

Reassembling my car after paint and I've stumbled upon a glitch I can't figure out.

I have both window switches on the driver's side working, but I cannot get any switch to function on the passenger door.

I've tried multiple switches, both on the passenger side and the drivers side just to make sure. And of course, if I have no switch installed on the passenger side I get no function from the driver's side passenger switch.

So if the installed passenger side switch is working well enough to let the driver's door passenger switch control it (ie, getting current and hooked up correctly), why isn't the switch on the passenger side working?

What am I missing?

There isn't some child safety switch I'm not aware of is there?

Check the connections on passenger side switch sounds like a wire isn't hooked up to the correct terminal.

Just in case these photos help, i removed door panel
about year ago to adjust window guide,so took a few photos
of window switch on drivers side only,these are how drivers side is wired
both are correct and work as they should, .

I hooked a small motorcycle battery up to the two blue wires off the switch to check my motors.

Can't be this or the motor as the driver's door passenger switch (D/P) moves the window no problem.

And I've followed all the wiring diagrams/pics I can find here.

So I guess my question is this: Can the passenger door switch (P/P) possibly be wired incorrectly if the D/P switch still functions?

When I read the wiring diagrams, what I see is the D/P running THROUGH the P/P.And when I remove the P/P switch altogether, the D/P switch no longer functions.

I've tried 2 different switches there, and I've verified that at least one of them works.

It's not the switch.

Looking at the Bentley wiring diagram, it looks to me like the passenger switch has its own ground wire. If that isn't a good ground wire, then that switch won't work locally. When operating that window using the switch on the driver's side the circuit uses a different ground wire. Therefore, I would check that the passenger door switch wire is solidly grounded by pulling the switch out of the door, and with an ohm meter, see zero resistance from the brown wire on pin 4 to a good grounding point.

SUCCESS!!!

Yes, the passenger door ground was not longer "functioning". I'd never used my multimeter that way, so thank you that was super helpful and and a learning experience.

Rather than fish our the existing ground, I just ran a new one to a pre-existing bolt in the door and it's working great.
