930/02 vs 930/12 - Any minor differences?

The Carrera 3.0 - They came with the 930/02 engine.. except for a tiny number that received the 930/12 which were designated for the Sporto transmission.

Is there something further to this though. Is there a slight difference between the two?

Why didn't they just slap a 930/02 and a Sporto together if they were the same engine?

Interested to know as I have a 930/12.

AL, great to from a Tasmanian Porsche Brother! And fine thing to look for details as you are. Surly someone here knows. Be great to see pics of your car with Tas background... My Father told me years ago it was "the" place in the world to be.

Bruce Anderson book says "same specs" =- Redbook does not even list /12

The 12 is assembled with the extra vacuum access on the injection to control the transmission

Now that's the level of detail I was after! Thanks Bruce!

Karl, yeah Tassie isn't too bad. :-) Perfect roads for Porsches and scenery to match. I'll get some pics.. most of my car scenery pics have Volvos in them though.

Cheers,
Al.
