What happens if....
 

I installed a new Bilstein strut over the weekend. Then, last night, I caught a note in Bentley to the effect of "Shocks should not be stored horizontally; if they were stored horizontally, they should be placed upright, fully extended, for 24 hours prior to installation."

Needless to say, mine have been horizontal...I set the other one upright, but I'm wondering what the effect will be on the one that is installed now?

no experience with this but just jack the car up and let it sit for a few days.
