Wow, tire rack actually has multiple options for our old P'cars now. Not a bad price at all.
Little weighty but 20% the cost of 30 year old fuch's. Glad to see the rack is giving this market a try.

Interesting. IIRC when they came out they were listed as originating in Chinar.
I wouldn't use them on the track or performance driving. Since they are Taiwan, they are hopefully JWL-certified. Last edited by FrenchToast; 07-03-2017 at 08:31 PM.. |

They would look fine on a Porsche-like car.

Called Automotion today. They claim the Euromeister wheels are "made in California". I got the phone number to the "manufacturer" who is located in the City of Industry, Ca (Los Angeles).
This manufacturer has an office in the US, but the wheels are made in "China China" as the manager says it. Euromeisters are sold directly to Automotion / Ecklers, who then distributes them around. This accounts for the pricing schedule range of $170- to $345 for a 16 inch front depending on which online store you go. The report is that this item is a low pressure cast with no center plug sold. Unfortunately there is nowhere a person can go to inspect the wheel. But obviously a number of owners here on this forum have got them with a variety of opinions. The Starke wheel is also a low pressure cast made in Taiwan. There is a distribution center in Reno Nevada. Per my call to them, there is a way to inspect the wheel at the distribution center. I have seen better stuff from Tiawan over China/China over the last 30 years. Then again there is nothing to stop them from outsourcing or manufacturing in Mainland China - China / China. Problem is, no one has bought these wheels on this vintage Porsche. Rennlist has articles but these are the big wheels on the newer cars. Starke declined my offer to be a test for their product nobody has heard of. If some one near Reno is interested in stopping by the Starke distribution send me a PM. I have the details on how this can be done. Nothing like an ol' eyeball look at the wheel to get a read on the thing. Just lemme know on a PM. The one upfront thing the Starke has in favor is the "no black", as is my preference. The rest it to be known. H2 |
