C2 conversion on my 76', lighting question
 

I am doing a C2 body conversion on my 76 Turbo body 911 with 2.7 turbo motor. I have a couple of questions:

-Can anyone give me some insight (or pictures) on installing the rear lights on the car, I'm having to cut part of the car and make some brackets and I'd like to see some pic's of this.
-What about the wiring on the new lights. Does anyone sell the plug to hook them up or do I need a wiring harness.

any other pictures on the conversion would help.. I have a kit from betterbodies.

i bolted the light to the bracket put it where i thought is was supposed to go tack welded it took the light off and welded it, you have to remove most of the old bracket, you asl will have to rework the tabs on the side that the light screws into, sorry no pictures, Kevinhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/tail lights.jpg

I am doing the same thing to my '78. I contacted Better Bodies and they said that their kit eliminated the need for a rear conversion bracket. AIR on the other hand, sells the needed bracket, but it involves some welding according to them.

I have the same question about the lights. I was in the process of contacting some salvage yards to see if I could get the pigtails for the C2 conversion. I was going to wait on this, until I actually had everything apart this Spring when the Arctic circle was less of an influence. I am reluctant to cut my original harness since these cars are becoming more collectible unmolested, and who knows I might be converting it back in ten years.

My kit came with some pretty sturdy bumper reinforcements. I am not sure that I am going to use these though , since part of the idea for this was to lighten up. I would fabricate some professional looking brackets out of stainless or aluminum to keep things from flexing at 100mph+.

I am also toying with the idea of making the center section on the bumper removeable so that I can service the turbos. The heat is a real problem on the bumper with my headers, so insulate well.
Can anybody offer any input on the lights? How about the installation of the welting between the rocker panels as well as the installation of the C2 bumper smile?

Update on the rear lights. I was instructed to just use spade connectors in lieu of factory pigtails. Seems like good and thrifty advice. Make sure that the connections are sealed. I will probaly fill the cavity with silicon grease, and cap with a rubber plug.
