Oil Pressure Sender Compatability

I have a 79 with a 3.2.

I just replaced my leaking 79 oil tank with a used 3.2 tank sourced from another pelican.

The OEL gauge went immediately up to max.

I checked the oil level and it was good.

took it for a spin and it dropped a little bit from the top but was still close it Maximum, I got the temp up to about 170 ish.

The sensor worked fine 2 days ago with the previous tank.

Any chance it's just sticking a bit ?

Is there any impact or is it just for the gauge?

At least it's not leaking anymore.

Open for suggestions..

-Dan

Possibly a wrong oil pressure sensor.

911SC 911-606-111-03
Carrera 911-606-135-00

Edit
Missed that it operated normally previously so not sure.

The 2 pressure senders are supposed to be 5 bar units. The Carrera has a pin connector and the SC has a spade connector on top.
I don't see what pressure has to do with the tank replacement

Sorry meant to say OEL gauge. Oil level not pressure.

Swap in the original sender.

Ok cool. I wasn't sure if the pre - 3.2 tank senders were compatible with the older ones.
