New tires
Just received new tires from TireRack today. They were one of the few distributors that had RE11's in 225-50-16 and 245-45-16 from my 7 & 9 Fuchs. Will get these mounted next week.

Retired, finally

Great tires. Use them for street driving and DEs on the 911 and M3, and ChumpCar racing on the Supra.

Last I checked, they didn't have this size combo (or 205/55) in the same speed rating. Did they start making them?
I spoke to them (and Bridgestone) a while back and they didn't recommend mixing V and W rated tires. Is that just a CYA or is there a real concern? Anyone mixed them with no issues?

I worked tire design for years. In plant DOT testing would far exceed those spec limits before tire destruction. |
