Big reds in front with black in rear?

Hi Guys, just curious, will big reds in front with black S4 (30-34) 993 in the rear be a good setup for my Carrera? I have the oppurtunity to sell my not-yet complete front S4 setup for a complete big red front setup and pay less of a difference than I would have to pay to complete the kit I have. (????) So i'm hoping the front big reds would be a good match to the 993 S4 rears I have.
Thanks!

I have a similar setup with Big Blacks up front and Turbo’s in the rear. I had to install a proportioning valve for them to work together properly.

Hydraulicly that is an excellent match up. The only fly in the ointment is that the 993 rear rotors are designed for 24mm wide rotor(the 930 rotor that you will want to use is 28mm). It can be done w/ a little finageling.

This is what it will look like

Mike, Just to absolutly sure, you have 30/34 from the rear of a 993?

Those should be the smallest size basic 4 piston, 2 piece, Brembo caliper which has the 94mm axial mounting ears.

The S4 is the middle size Brembo(actually just a tad smaller than the BigRed most folks need to measure to tell the difference. The S4 has the same radial mounts as the BigRed as well as the same 44/36mm mm pistons. Though there is a rear S4 w/ the axila mount ears, from 993T and 993C4 which will also work.

The best caliper for that application, though rare, is the 964T rear which is designed for the 930 28mm wide rotor.

Bill, I have the rear of a 993 which are 30-34, which I will be keeping, to match with the big reds I want to pick up for the front.

That'll work w/ the previously mentioned caveat
