Door hinge pin removal tool
Posted this in parts for sale, thought that I would re-post here.
Hello all, I designed a custom made tool head that attaches to a slide hammer for pin removal. After a prototype and a few adjustments, I came up with the following tool head. I engineered it to screw onto the large slide hammer, available at Harbor Freight. I think it was $60 to $70. The tool head has been drilled and threaded completely through the main bar, so that you can reverse the location for the two types of pin locations. On the top hinge I slipped a 8" high spacer (3/4" pipe) to keep me away from the top of the door and fenders. This worked very slick. I paid well over $350.00 to get this completed. If I can get 10 orders together, my machine shop guy said he would only charge us $150.00 each (plus shipping). There is alot of sizing and cutting for a tool this small. The tool is 2-1/2" high x 4" long and is notched so that the tool can slide over the pin. I also works in reverse - putting the pin back in. Please send me a PM - easier for me to check Thanks for the interest, Mark Tool head: Tool attached to slide hammer: ![]() ![]() ![]() Tool head on place on hinge pin: ![]() |

You are my kind of Guy! I hope enough people take you up on this so eventually you break even. I have done the same thing on my Shift Extensions which cost a lot less but eventually broke even on the first set and made about $100 in total Gross on the last set. Your tool is very well made and my question is up to what diameter pin will it acomodate? I have to remove the doors on my van.
