Phoenix Ride?

Hey all, the weather has been awesome and I was wondering if you all would like to get together for another drive soon?

We could go Payson, Strawberry route and start from Mesa this time ..

Any takers? Dates in Feb?

I am available Feb 8 and the 22

That sounds like fun. If I still have my car I will try to make it. Or, I might take a right seat with someone. You know, to take pictures, change the CD, etc.

Hi RJ ,

I'm ready, but my pcar is getting its 15K service. If timing works out I'd like to tag along. I'd rather come back to mesa/tempe via the Payson route. Gotta love those twisties while going down hill!

We'll find out Tammy's schedule for Feb in a few days. I'll keep you posted. It's very unlikely that she'll be off weekends. As much as my daughter loves riding in the 911, I know she's not up to several hours strapped in the car seat.

We also need schedule a trip to the go kart track!

You guys should come out to the race at PIR on Feb 14th, 15th, 16th. You can see tons of racing 911's. I will be there. My Dad's car is having a new motor rebuilt so his will not be there.

I am a Minnesota Pelican whose mother-in-law happens to live in Phoenix? If I could manage to make a mother-in-law visit coincide with one of your rides would anyone mind letting me ride with them?

There's usually plenty of right seats to go around. Hopefully all the schedules will come together.

Richard,

My travel has really picked up this year. So far every week in January I am travelling somewhere and February looks to be the same. Those dates are probably not going to work for me but if I can work it out I may try to make it. Also, don't forget that it can be pretty snowy in February!

LeeH, thats great news!

Is there one day that is better than the rest? I was hoping for the 22nd of Feb. Heck we can even make the final stop the Go-Kart Place when the trip is done.

Here is the route I was considering.

Let me know...

It's official. She's off Saturdays in Feb. At this point we don't have anything scheduled.

RJ, have you calculated the time/distance for the route?

LeeH, should be shorter than Last time. I figure With only 3 stops 1 for lunch, should be no longer than 6 hours. Not including a little go karting afterwards...lol

I'd be interested in something like that. Just keep of this thread.

About two months ago I took a guy in my office out through Fountain Hill, up to Payson, on to Flag by Lake Mary, down through Oak Creek Canyon, on to Jerome, went down the back side of Jerome, cut off on a dirt road back to I-17, and home. Top down all the way. My friend knows AZ like the back of his hand, he knows every road, every valley, alot of the history, and where the police hide. He said he'd never seen so much in so little time and enjoyed it more. (No brown stains in the seats - but nearly!!!!)
