Pop out 1/4 window mod
Does the window frame have to be disassembled to get rubber seal in track?
I can not get the rubber in the window track!! Advise please. |
Which seal, the one between the glass and the metal, or the outer one that presses against the car body?
You need to take the frame apart to put the seal on the glass, within the frame. You need to keep the frame intact to put the outer seal on. |
Thanks for the reply. It's the router seal. I can't get it in the groove.

Soap, water and a rubber mallet. Takes me about 3 minutes per window. Believe me, I've struggled with these in the past and this is the best method.
|
Pot on with soap and rubber hammer. But what about these ripples? Same on both sides? What to do?

Factory seal or URO parts? Also, they are side specific...do you have them on the correct side?
|
All rubber direct from Sunset Porsche Portland
|
It might just need to be pushed into the chassis. There is a lot of pressure on the new seals so it might form them into place.

Thanks guys, converting 84 to pop outs.
|
The rubber seal has one end with a flap of about 1". Does that go at the top or the bottom?
|
an 84 will have additional structure on the B-pillar ... I posted detail on this quite a while back.

Thank you, I have all of the parts, and aware of the metal piece to remove. Its because of those wrinkles, I wondered if there was a reason? The one inch flap is at the bottom I believe. Jut wanted conformation.
