HELP PLS: can only find reverse after installing WEVO PSJ
could someone please help adjusting the shift gear? I could only find the reverse gear and it is in a wear position in both the shift "gate" and the shift coupler place? How would I be able to find the first gear and position the coupler correctly? Help please!!!
Thank you http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1495921771.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1495921783.jpg |
sorry the pictures shown that it is currently in reserver. (my car: 81 SC with 915 trans)

so if I loosen up the coupler and put the shift lever to the reserve position, then the shift rod is pulled back way too much. I messed it up some how. hehehehe

can i adjust by the shift cup area?

Loosen the clamp. Put the trans in neutral. Put the trans in 3rd by pushing the coupler towards the rear while in the middle. Put the shift handle in 3rd gear position. Tighten the clamp

When I installed my Wevo, all the adjustments were done with the transition and gear lever in 3rd gear. I found that very minute adjustments (like less than 1 mm) to the coupler clamp position on the shift rod made a big change in the action of the shift lever. I spent a long time making tiny changes until I got it to shift properly.

Thank you Dan and David. I guess I overestimated my mechanical skill but I won't give up.
Right now I am having a problem finding neutral. Every gear I tried it seems to be in forward gear but not the first gear. Before I started this, my 915 was ok but not that good. going to 2nd is a pain sometimes. So I bought a WEVO PSJ, new ball cup bushing, new shift rod bushing, new couple clamp, and a seine gate shift. I was going to install them all this long weekend but hehehe. I won't give up. Since I already messed things up, I was thinking that I will go ahead and replace the bushings now also and will try to get it working again. Once it is working, then I will tackle the gate shift. If any of you thinks I should do otherwise, please don't hesitate to advise with the exception of telling me to bring it to the mechanic. Not yet anyway. :) Thanks |
