1968 912's Brake Lights Are Always On
Just replaced the master cylinder and brake light switch (has the two spade pressure switch screwed into the master cylinder) and bled my brakes. For some reason, after I switch the ignition switch to the on position, the brake lights are turning on even without the brake pedal depressed. Any ideas what could be causing this? Brake light circuit looks pretty simple. Ignition switch feeds 12v to Fuse 1, then black/ylw wire comes off of Fuse 1 to the brake light switch, then second black/wire comes off brake light switch to the brake light bulbs in the tail lights. I tried two different brake lights switches, but the brake lights light up after I switch the ignition switch to the on position.

First, be sure all the air has been bled from the MC switch before inserting. IIRC, your 912 has a mechanical brake light switch attached to the brake pedal, behind the floor board. If so, run a test to see if that switch is operating correctly. It's been a long time since I had an early car but check for the mechanical switch on the pedal cluster. It should have power on one side and none on the other.
