 Vacuum line clarification 
		
		
		Hi everyone, i own a 1982 911SC. 
	Never really ran 100% but it ran fair enough to daily drive. Idle has always been a bit inconsistent. Now its bucking and makes driving unpleasant. Idle is always surging. Ive searched the forums for a good couple months to gather as much info as i could. One thing i cant seem to find is pictures of vacuum lines. Ive followed the vacuum diagrams and it doesn't match to what i have on the car.  There should be a vacuum map inside the motor cover 
	Should have a red and blue line coming off the throttle body to the distributor. On the 80 to 83 there is 2 connections on the distributor pod. The one closest to you at the motor is advance the one on the back of the pod is retard. If the hoses are hooked correctly, at idle, one hose will have vacuum. You can tell by putting the hose to your tongue, the vacuum goes to the retard side of the pod. It has vacuum at idle because the port on the TB is located below the butterfly and the running engine is looking for all the air it can get. The advance gets vacuum from the air rush into the engine at high speed causing advance in the distributor. The vacuum connection is located above the butterfly. Bruce  |

 Car is ROW, it does have cruise control but i never used it. Ill have a look tonight to see how its hooked up.

 Last 3 digits on your WUR 089? If so, the vacuum is the side outlet. Top outlet is atmosphere and I dont think needs to connect to anything.

 Vacuum line clarification 
		
		
		Do you have an EGR? Our 78SC developed a surge/buck at 3000-3500 rpm. Turned out to be a vacuum leak due to the internal diaphragm that failed and is non serviceable.

 Posting a picture of the fuel lines at the WUR may also hep. My ROW had the wrong WUR and some added lines from being federalized when imported. Those added elements caused prolems that were difficult to diagnose as they are not OE.

 Oops I apologize, I thought non-euro cars were called ROW.  But its non-US that are ROW?

 Yes, generally non-US are ROW euro. Post your engine number to be sure. I think 930/10 is 1983 euro. I dont recall the US engine number.

	Engine: 64C2467 What seems odd to me is that i have 1 vac line coming off of the WUR going to a "T" that connects to the T.B above the butterfly and it T's off to another line connecting to a port below butterfly. Wouldn't that throw off the WUR? 		Could you post additional information like: 
	Engine type: 930/?? Vin number:????? The Red Book shows engine 64C2467 is from an '82 SC targa US model. Knowing the engine type and VIN # would narrow down our identication process. At this point, I would say this is a late SC engine US model. What you need is to know and understand how the vacuum lines are connected. Tony  |

 the port below the butterfly is for the vacuum control to the WUR. this is usually T'd with the DV. 
	if it is US engine does it have any lambda stuff on it. if you have euro CIS on it then you need the parts for THAT system. match the parts to the CIS, not the engine. read flat6pac's post for dist vacuum lines. one thing, if you remove the retard line at idle, the idle should go up. if you swap the retard line to the advance port at idle, the idle should go up. this is a very easy check that verifies lines and ports on the dist and that they work.  | 
		
 Yup its got everything lambda, PO told me it had all the stock components. Just doing a double check to make sure. 
	From what i can gather the WUR-072 should vent to atmosphere? So that vac line should be connected above butterfly if anything? I dont really plan on using cruise control, if i leave the nipple open on the cruise control module would it affect anything?  |
