I am having a varying idle problem. My condition is that when I hold the idle at a fixed throttle (anywhere in the RPM range) it will fluctuate up and down about +/- 100-200 rpm.
Is this a vacuum problem?... A fuel flow problem?....something else? Again, it's everywhere in the rev range and most noticeable with the car not moving. When the car is moving it gives a "surging" effect. |

Would one of the conditions you have outline also make it run hot? Usually lean is hot....but hot enough that it shows a significant difference on the temp gauge? I can get it to the second bar (120 deg celcius) in moderatley aggressive driving on a 60 degree day. I have just switched (last night) to the number guage and 300 degree sender to see if it's my guage and to keep a more prcise eye on it. |

try unplugging the oxy sensor and setting the CO to 3.5%. leave it unplugged. also check the operation of the frequency valve by unplugging the relay under the right seat, by the tunnel. if the idle drops, it's working, if not, a new relay usually fixes it. a blown dome light fuse cuts power to the relay.

I would guess that this is either in my bentley book or in Wayne's (trully awesome) book as to how to set the CO to 3.5%. What is the procedure for that. Thanks John.
