Milwaukee WI area Pelicans CIS Help!

Anyone in the Milwaukee area that could lend a hand in trying to diagnose a cold start issue?
Would be awesome if you had a CIS tested too as I am not sure the one I have is working properly.

Let me know, thanks in advance! Jeremy

Jeremy where in Milwaukee are you I'm south near Union Grove? How long has it been sitting? If for a while on our crappy gas here in SE WI the CIS plunger might be gummed up? Or once warm does it start and run fine?

In grafton right off of 43.
Car could start and idle for about a minute, then RPMs slowly drop and it dies.

I know doesn't seem to be too many of us in SE WI. Have you pulled the relay and checked that both fuel pumps are working? If only the rear works it will start then die, if front works then it will idle but not run on power...

I just ordered a CIS pressure tester so I can verify that I'm getting the right fuel, maybe I can figure mine out and help you!

I am going to put it all back together and try starting it again later this week. Try to shoot a video as well.
Your car seems to die more suddenly than mine, where the it idles fine on start up and then idle slowly drops till it dies.

Almost like the WUR is not working properly as the car starts to warm up.

Latest update.
Put everything back together and still have the same symptom.

The car will start run for ~1min and die. I can not restart it just by turning the key, but she will start when I feather the gas pedal.
If I take my foot off the gas, she will die again. She will run with light pressure on the gas and I hold an idle at 1k rpm, but as soon as I take my foot off, she dies.

Heres the min long video...

Jeremy,

Were you able to resolve your cold start problem? Since you don't have a stock 930 set up, it was difficult to give a meaningful advice. Been watching this thread from the very beginning since you only wanted help from your local guys. Well, I am curious about your set up.

What is Bosch ID numbers for the WUR and FD? Since you have a single FP only, at what system fuel pressure it was set? Was this a complete 930 CIS unit from an older model? Thanks.

Tony

Hey tony. I still have the same issue. Only mentioned locals to see if someone was near by to lend a hand but am open to anyone who can offer suggestions.
Cis is complete from a 78-79 930.
The car ran fine with it for 5 years and this spring out of storage it developed this start issue.

Thanks!

I'm a Milwaukee SC driver. Two years ago I took apart my entire CIS and fixed/cleaned a lot of things. In the end, though, I needed help from a shop to get everything tuned back up, due to (among other things) a new coil being bad.

In any event, I have a decent idea of what is opening/closing and generally trying to go on during normal CIS processes. Life is a little busy with a toddler and such, but message me and maybe I can take a look some evening soon.

Thanks for the offer, let me know anytime. I know how life gets with toddlers, having a 4 and 2 year old which is why I rarely drive this car.
