Head studs: to replace or not to replace

1970 2,2 . Stock never been rebuilt. 80,000 miles
Q: Should I replace the head studs during the rebuild?

I understand the cost issue of replacing them vs. not replacing them while the engine is apart yadda, yadda, yadda

Should I replace all of them.
Has someone rebuilt a 2,2 and not replaced them and gotten good results?

Has anyone replaced just the lower ones, closest to the exhaust?
The 2,2 engine isn't as stressed as the 2,4 and 2,7. So it would seem they might not need to be replaced.

Has anyone ever tried to anneal and re-heat treat them?
It would seem to me that you should be able to re-arrange the grain structure by doing this.
If not does anyone have the material callout and heat treat spec's from the Fatherland? I can have the parts tested in our lab.
The research folks love this kinda stuff.

I know buying the parts would be faster and maybe cheaper in the long run but not nearly as much fun.

Thanks,

on stock 2.2s, they're steel, so they don't need to be messed with.
